Venezuelan Ambassador Invites INEC Chairman to Observe Presidential Election

The Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Mr. Alberto Efrain Padilla, accompanied by the Embassy’s Counselor, Mr. Alvaro Tadeo Pereira, made a courtesy visit to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) headquarters in Abuja on Monday.

The purpose of the visit was to foster collaboration and extend an invitation to the Commission’s Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, to observe Venezuela’s presidential election scheduled for the 28th of July, 2024.

Prof. Yakubu, along with National Commissioners Mallam Mohammed Haruna and Mr. Sam Olumekun MNI, warmly welcomed the visitors.

This diplomatic exchange underscores the importance of international cooperation in promoting transparency and fairness in electoral processes. Observing elections in other countries serves as a valuable opportunity to exchange best practices and enhance mutual understanding.

The invitation extended by the Venezuelan Embassy signifies a gesture of goodwill and demonstrates the commitment of both nations to strengthening bilateral relations.
