Borussia Dortmund Advances to UEFA Champions League Final with Victory over PSG

Borussia Dortmund secured their spot in the UEFA Champions League final with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night at the Parc des Princes in France. The lone goal of the match came from Mats Hummels, propelling Dortmund to a 2-0 aggregate scoreline following their earlier 1-0 win in the first leg.

This marks Dortmund's third appearance in the UEFA Champions League final, having previously reached the pinnacle of European football in 1997 and 2013. Interestingly, their last final appearance coincided with the last time the final was held at Wembley Stadium in 2013.

At 35 years and 143 days old, Mats Hummels etched his name in the record books as the third oldest player to score in a UEFA Champions League semi-final, joining the esteemed company of Ryan Giggs and Edin Dzeko.

On the other side, Paris Saint-Germain's woes in the semi-finals continue, as they have now lost all six legs of their three two-legged UEFA Champions League semi-final appearances. This defeat adds to their previous disappointments against Milan in 1994-95 and Manchester City in 2020-21.

With their eyes set on European glory, Borussia Dortmund will now prepare to face their opponent in the final showdown at Wembley Stadium, aiming to capture their first UEFA Champions League title since 1997.
